The Story Behind The Hand You’re Dealt

This book was born from a lifetime of navigating challenges that were never optional. From growing up with a hand difference to overcoming serious illness, chasing a Paralympic dream, becoming a mother, and redefining identity beyond sport, Kate learned early that strength is not about control. It is about response.

The Hand You’re Dealt weaves personal stories with reflection and insight, showing how perspective shapes resilience and how adversity can become a teacher rather than a barrier. It is not about fixing yourself or chasing perfection. It is about grounding yourself in who you are, trusting your capacity to adapt, and learning to play the hand you have been given with intention.
